Lost Email, Apparently exists but also does not.

That usually means the email address is still reserved or attached somewhere, but Microsoft is not recognizing it as a current sign-in account or alias.

Try this in order:

1. Go to the Microsoft account sign-in page and enter the exact email address.
   • If a password prompt appears, that email is a Microsoft account.
   • If the message says "We couldn't find an account with that username" or "That Microsoft account doesn't exist," check the spelling and domain carefully.
2. If the account is not found, use the Sign-in Helper tool.
   • This is the primary troubleshooting path for Microsoft account sign-in issues.
3. If the account has not been used for more than two years, it may have been deleted and can no longer be reopened.
4. If the email might still be tied to the account but normal recovery fails, complete the account recovery form from a device and location previously used to sign in, if possible.
5. If the username or sign-in email is forgotten, check places where the account may still be signed in:
   • Windows 10/11: Start > Settings > Accounts > check Email & app accounts
   • Office apps: File > Account > look for Belongs to
   • Email inboxes: search for Microsoft purchase or subscription receipts
   • Xbox: check the Microsoft email tied to the gamertag
6. If a screen appears asking "Which account do you want to use?", the same email may exist as both a personal Microsoft account and a work or school account. In that case, the personal account sign-in alias may need to be changed under Manage how you sign in.

Important limits:

• If two-step verification is turned on and none of the alternate verification methods are accessible, support agents cannot send password reset links or change account details.
• Support agents also cannot provide account information without proper validation.

For Minecraft, avoid creating a new account with that email unless Microsoft confirms the old account is gone.
