Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
To cancel one Microsoft 365 subscription:
- Go to Services & subscriptions.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that has the subscription to cancel.
- Find the subscription and select Manage.
- If Microsoft manages the subscription, management options appear there.
- If it was bought through a third-party retailer, Apple App Store, or Google Play, billing must be managed with that provider.
- Select Cancel or Upgrade or Cancel.
- Follow the prompts to complete cancellation.
Important checks:
- If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Manage or Cancel, the subscription is already set to expire and no further action is needed.
- Always sign in with the same Microsoft account used to purchase the subscription.
- If the subscription was purchased in a mobile app, manage it in Apple ID settings on iPhone/iPad or in Google Play on Android.
- If the subscription was purchased from a third-party retailer, Microsoft cannot process the cancellation.
After cancellation, Microsoft 365 storage reverts to 5 GB of cloud storage and 15 GB of Outlook.com storage. If files exceed the free allowance, save or move them first.
If the cancel option does not appear:
- Check whether the subscription was bought from Microsoft, a retailer, Apple, or Google.
- Verify the correct Microsoft account is signed in.
- Check whether recurring billing is already off.
- If there is an overdue balance, pay it before canceling.
