How to speak to an agent

If the account cannot be accessed, use the Microsoft sign-in helper first. It is the recommended path for Microsoft account sign-in problems.

If live help is needed, go to Contact Microsoft Support, enter the issue, select Get Help, and then select Contact Support if prompted. For account-security issues, the available support option may be chat in the browser or a callback option, depending on region and subscription.

A practical path is:

1. Open Sign-in helper.
2. If that does not resolve the issue, open Contact Microsoft Support.
3. Enter a short description such as account sign-in or account security issue.
4. Select Get Help.
5. If shown, select Contact Support to reach the available agent option.

Important: Microsoft support agents are not allowed to send password reset links or access and change account details.
