Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Hello @EE,
Good day! I hope you are doing well.
You mentioned that you are not receiving emails in Outlook despite having followed the suggested steps in previous Q&A.
Could you please let me know which specific troubleshooting steps you have already performed and can you provide the link to the previous Q&A post you mentioned? This will help us avoid repeating the same recommendations and focus on the next appropriate troubleshooting steps.
Also, could you share a bit more detail about your setup:
- Does the issue occur only in Classic Outlook for Windows, or are you also unable to receive emails in Outlook on the web (OWA) / New Outlook?
- When you send test emails between the accounts, do the messages appear in the sender's Sent Items folder?
- Are you able to send emails successfully, or are both sending and receiving affected?
- Does this issue affect only your mailbox, or are other users in your organization experiencing the same problem?
- Have you recently made any changes to your Outlook profile, mailbox settings, license assignments, or email forwarding rules?
- Have you checked the Junk Email, Deleted Items, and any inbox rules that may be moving incoming messages automatically?
- Are there any error messages, bounce-back notifications (NDRs), or synchronization errors displayed in Outlook?
This additional context will help us better understand your environment and the troubleshooting steps already performed so we can tailor the guidance and resolve the issue effectively.
In the meantime, please ask your Microsoft 365 administrator to verify that the affected account has an active Exchange Online license assigned and that the mailbox is provisioned correctly. Ask your admin to follow these steps:
- Go to Users > Active Users
- Click on your username
- Select Licenses and Apps
- Expand Apps
- Ensure that Exchange Online (Plan 1 or Plan 2) is selected
If the license is present, try unchecking it, reapplying it, and then allow some time for synchronization. This may help resolve the issue.
If the issue persists, please let me know the answers to my questions above and I'll be happy to assist further.
Looking forward to your response.
