    Yes, you definitely want to remove the Microsoft scanner driver and install the HP driver. I am quite sure that's why it is not working.

    If the manufacturers don't publish their drivers to be included in Microsoft's Windows updates, Windows update can end up giving you a generic driver vs. the OEM version of driver, and issue can happen.
