Recently, my school gave the Lenovos at the school to students who kept their Chromebooks after 3 years of ownership, but something happened, and as summer started, I was never able to use previously blocked apps. I can't figure out how to unblock anything on it, and I am unable to use the apps, meaning it isn't really my personal laptop. I would like ideas on how to remove the restrictions

School restrictions on a school-managed Lenovo cannot be removed or bypassed through Microsoft. Those controls are managed by the school IT department, and only they can change or remove them.

Supported options:

Check whether the device is still managed:
- Open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
- If a school or organization account is listed, the device may still be under management.
If the laptop is meant to be personal now, ask the school IT/help desk to:
- remove device management,
- remove school security policies,
- and unblock or review the specific apps that are still restricted.
If only certain sites or apps are blocked, provide the exact app names or sites to the school and ask for them to be added to the allowed list.

There is no supported Microsoft method to provide an admin password, disable school filtering, or bypass school security controls.

If these are chromebooks running Chrome OS, it is not a Microsoft product, but Google product. So it is not supported here.

However, even if this is Windows OS device, even if it is now your personal device, those restrictions were most likely applied through the school's device-management system. Unfortunately, this is not something a Microsoft/community forum or regular support agent can remove for you. We do not have access to your school's administrator account, management policies, or device enrollment records, and there is no legitimate Windows setting or command that can override those administrator restrictions.

Even if the school has given you ownership of the laptop, their IT department still needs to properly remove the device from their management system and release any policies that were applied to it.
