I am a Win365 paying private customer! How can I get help from MS support with MS insist that my account is an Business account?

I am a private customer of Microsoft 365 but Microsoft do not allow me to administer my own computer, like updates etc. I can not geet in contact with ANY support from Microsoft!!

Do I have to cancel my MS365 or is there any way to get some help from MS to fix this problem?? NOW!!

Hi I have the same problem and can get no help at all from Microsoft as they keep telling me we have a business account, but am a private customer and when we lodge help requests (4), they are closed without anyone checking if the problem has been fixed. My Outlook has stopped working and we cannot reset passwords as we are advised we are not the administrators, per your problem above. We use to be able to do this and now we cannot. There seems to be a problem with what they call the tenant. and there is an issue at the exchange/server· People emailing our email are receiving the below error message

451 4.4.4 Mail received as unauthenticated, incoming to a recipient domain configured in a hosted tenant which has no mail-enabled subscriptions. ATTR5. (The diagnostic timestamp on one of them is:

2026-08-15T07:16:51.087Z). The help AI system just sends you in circles as you cannot log in or reset passwords.

Hello,

Could you please let me know what specific error message or issue you are experiencing on the Windows Update page?

If possible, please share a screenshot of the error message as well. This will help me understand the issue and assist you here.

I only managed to find 2 error messages at this time, maybe I will find more again later. I attach them here. The problem with Microsoft is that they mixed my old companys e-mail and my personal e-mail so much that when I tried to remove my companys e-mail somehow it also wanted to remove my private e-mail too!?! So I had to rewerse the removal to keep my private e-mail, and that reversal made my companys e-mail to be activated again??? Can anyone understand how MS thinks??

Hello,

The error message indicates that the device is still managed or connected to your Work/School Organization.

To check if the Work/School account still exists,

Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Access Work or School.

If you see your Work/School account listed, select the account and click 'Disconnect'.

If the second screenshot you receive is from the Office 365 apps,

Open any Office app, such as Word or Excel and go to File > Options > General.

Select Privacy settings.

Check the 'Enable Optional connected experience' checkbox. (OR) Tick the checkboxes for all options in the privacy settings, then click OK.

See if you are experiencing the same issue.

Under Accounts I removed work account like you wrote, but I see also that my companys mail account is admin on the computer. I can not find any way to change that to my private mail account, why it have been impossible for me to make changes on my own computer. Maybe someone knows how to make that change so I can be in charge of my own computer.

I did choose to enable all setttigs in Office like you suggested. It seems to work now, but it made that unfortunately AI-stuff came in on my Office installation now :-(

Hi,

So here's what you can do now:

Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Your info.

If you see your work account listed as the Administrator,

Select the 'Switch to a local account instead' option. (See if you have this option.

Follow the prompts to complete the local account setup.

Sign out and sign in to the newly created local profile.

Then, go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Your info.

Select 'Sign in with your Microsoft account instead'. > Enter your Personal Microsoft account credentials and sign in.

Sign out and sign in to your Personal Microsoft account profile.

Now, your Personal account will be the device's administrator.

To turn off Copilot (AI) in Office applications:

Open any Office apps.

go to File > General > Privacy settings.

Under Connected experiences, clear the Turn on experiences that analyze your content checkbox.

Select OK, and then close and restart the app.
