A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
On Windows, remove the existing OneDrive installation first, then install the current version.
- Open Start and type Programs, then select Add or remove programs.
- Under Apps & features, find Microsoft OneDrive.
- Select it, then choose Uninstall.
- If prompted for administrator confirmation, approve it.
If uninstalling from Apps & features does not work, use this alternate method:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type appwiz.cpl and select OK.
- Find Microsoft OneDrive in the list.
- Right-click it and select Uninstall.
If the error still says a newer version is installed, remove the leftover OneDrive registry entry.
Warning: editing the registry can cause system problems if done incorrectly. Back up the registry first.
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type regedit and select OK.
- Go to:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\OneDrive - Right-click the OneDrive folder and select Delete.
Microsoft states that uninstalling OneDrive does not delete files or data from the computer. Files remain accessible by signing in to OneDrive online.
