Need help accessing Word and Excel using Office 365 subscription

I have a Microsoft Office 365 subscription. My computer needed to be reset by my tech guy. He said that I would need to log back into my Microsoft account in Edge and also into my MS 365 Office apps. I did log back into my Microsoft account, but am having trouble with MS365. When I try to open a Word document or Excel spreadsheet, a box pops up saying: "We're sorry, but Word has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. Word will need to be closed as a result. Would you like us to repair now?" So, I clicked the "Repair Now" button, and tried it a second time, with the same result, which was that the document still would not open. Can you please help?

    Hi,

    Your Office installation may have become corrupted after the PC reset. In this case, try repairing the installation by following the steps below.

    Instead of Quick Repair, I suggest trying an Online Repair to thoroughly repair any issues with the Office installation:

    In the search bar, type Control Panel > Programs and Features > find Microsoft 365/Office > right-click it > select Change > then run Online Repair.

    If the issue persists, you can use the Office Uninstall Support Tool (Uninstall Troubleshooter) to completely remove Microsoft Office from your device and then reinstall it:

    Once you open the link, click Get Help. When the tool launches, select Yes, then click Next. Choose the option to uninstall Microsoft 365 and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

    To reinstall Office:

    Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services

    Sign in with the Microsoft account associated with your Office license.

    Locate Microsoft Office and click Install.

    Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Once installed, open an Office app such as Word or Excel and sign in with the Microsoft account associated with your purchase to activate Office.
