For Android, the camera backup option should be in the OneDrive app under profile picture/account image > Settings > Camera upload or Camera backup.
Since that option is missing, use these checks:
- Open the OneDrive app and make sure the app is running normally. Camera backups only happen when the app is running.
- Tap the profile picture or account image.
- Go to Settings and look for Camera upload or Camera backup.
- Verify the signed-in account is the account intended for backup.
- If the option appears, turn it on and confirm:
- Camera backup account is correct
- Upload using includes mobile network if Wi‑Fi is not always available
- Upload only when charging is not selected if immediate backup is needed
- Include videos is on if videos also need backup
- If camera upload shows as paused, on Android go to Settings > Permission Manager > Files and Media > OneDrive, set it to Deny, then return to OneDrive > Me > Settings > Camera upload and enable it again.
- If automatic upload still is not working, turn off camera upload in OneDrive, rename the Camera Roll folder on the OneDrive website, then turn camera upload back on.
- Check available Microsoft storage. If storage is full, OneDrive cannot upload new files, including Camera Roll.
For Samsung devices, Microsoft states that starting September 30, 2026, Samsung Gallery will no longer sync directly with Microsoft OneDrive. Existing linked users should use OneDrive camera roll backup instead.
