Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
For the unexpected charge, first investigate the second payment on the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard and select Investigate. Common causes include recurring billing, a purchase made by someone else with the card, a previously declined charge being charged again, or a pre-order or split order shipping.
If the charge was for a subscription that was canceled too close to the billing date, cancellations must be made more than 2 days before the billing date. The subscription end date can be checked on Services & subscriptions.
If the second charge is not recognized or the issue is not resolved after investigation, contact Microsoft Support through Contact Support, enter the problem, select Get Help, and then select Contact Support for the best support option.
For the blocked account while traveling, Microsoft may block sign-in when using a new device, a new app, or a new location. To unlock the account, follow the instructions on the sign-in screen and choose where to receive a security code.
If blocked while trying to verify:
- Try another verification method connected to the account, such as an alternate email instead of SMS.
- Try another network, such as switching between Wi‑Fi and cellular data.
- Wait 24 hours before trying again, and if needed wait longer, up to 1 week. Repeated attempts can reset the time lock.
- Use the sign-in helper: Start
If access is still blocked, use the Outlook.com account unblock flow: Sign-in Helper
If the payment information may have been compromised, contact the bank or payment provider immediately to prevent more charges.
