If Microsoft 365 Basic does not appear on the Services & subscriptions page, the most likely causes are:

    1. The Basic subscription was purchased through a third party such as Apple, Google, Amazon, or another retailer.
    2. The Basic subscription is attached to a different Microsoft personal account.
    3. Recurring billing is already off, in which case the page would show Turn on recurring billing instead of a cancel option.

    Use this check first:

    1. Go to Services & subscriptions.
    2. Sign in with the Microsoft account used to buy Microsoft 365 Basic.
    3. Look for Microsoft 365 Basic.
      • If Manage, Cancel, or Change payment appears, it is billed by Microsoft and can be managed there.
      • If it redirects elsewhere or management options are missing, it is managed by the seller you bought it from.

If Microsoft 365 Basic is found under the same Microsoft account:

    1. Open https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365.
    2. Select Cancel subscription or Upgrade or Cancel.
    3. Follow the prompts and confirm cancellation.
    4. If the page shows Turn on recurring billing, the subscription is already set to expire and no further action is required.

If Microsoft 365 Basic is not listed:

    1. Check any other Microsoft personal accounts that may have been used for the August purchase.
    2. If the Basic subscription was bought from Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon, or another retailer, cancellation must be done with that provider directly.
    3. If there is an overdue amount on the payment method, that must be paid before cancellation can complete.

Important: joining or buying Microsoft 365 Family does not automatically cancel Microsoft 365 Basic. Basic must be cancelled separately if it is still active.

If charges continue after cancellation, one documented reason is cancelling too close to the billing date. Cancellations must be made more than 2 days before the billing date.

If the subscription still cannot be located or cancelled, use Microsoft guided support from the cancellation help page.

    Hello

If you switched from Basic to Family, the amount of time added to your Family plan is calculated at a 18% conversion rate.

If you go to your account, https://account.live.com > Subscriptions, if you look at the expiration or renewal date for the family plan, does it show partial year, or a full year? If it shows partial year, then the basic plan has been converted, so there's nothing to cancel so to speak.

If you see a full year of Family plan, then I need to know—was the basic plan originally purchased via Microsoft directly, or via third party?
