Change Microsoft 365 Family to Individual

To change from Microsoft 365 Family to Microsoft 365 Personal for renewal, switch to a plan with fewer features:

1. Sign in to the Subscriptions tab at https://account.microsoft.com/services.
2. Find the current Microsoft 365 Family subscription and select Manage.
3. Select Cancel subscription.
4. Follow the prompts to choose the lower-feature plan.
5. The current Family subscription continues until it expires.
6. The subscription then changes to Microsoft 365 Personal at renewal.

Important details:

• A switch from Family to Personal is treated as moving to a subscription with fewer features.
• The change might not happen immediately; it takes effect when the current plan renews.
• The new plan is not charged until renewal.
• If the subscription was bought through a third party such as Apple, Google Play, or a retail partner, billing and plan changes must be managed with that provider directly.
• If a new Microsoft 365 product key was bought from a retailer, it can be redeemed at https://setup.office.com/ using the same Microsoft account, and options for switching the plan will appear.
