I have been trying to reset the pin on my surface pro as I have forgotten it. To do that they need verification - even when i use my password. So I put in my email address - the one linked to the account which is a gmail address - and click send and their email never arrives. I have been trying to do this off and on for months

    Hello,

Did you check your Junk or SPAM email folder to see whether the verification email from Microsoft ended up there?

(OR) Add the 'Microsoft.com' domain address to the safe sender list and try requesting the Verification code again.

If you are still having issues, see if you can add a new Security Verification method to your Microsoft account online, then use that method to verify your identity when resetting your Windows Hello PIN.

    • Open a private browsing tab in any web browser and sign in with your Microsoft account here - https://account.live.com/proofs/Manage
    • See if you receive the Verification code at your recovery email address.
    • If you can sign in to the Security Settings page of your Microsoft account, enable two-step verification and add the Microsoft Authenticator app for verification.

Once done, restart your computer and then reset your PIN.

Use the Authenticator verification method to confirm your identity.

See if you can sign in successfully.
