Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Let's deal with the matter at hand first:
"I am trying to get back into my Microsoft account ..."
If you'll explain why you can't get into your Microsoft account, someone can help you. Forgotten password? Hacked? Missing license? Let us know. There are answers.
Regarding your other questions:
Microsoft employees do not provide support to retail customers. Not 24/7. Not anytime. Yes, they did that when the company was smaller. But today more than a billion people are using Microsoft software and services all over the world. Microsoft can't handle even a small fraction of that many phone calls.
The money that you and I and everyone else hands over to Microsoft pays for the right to use their software, not for support.
Microsoft has detailed instructions on their website to help people use their software. This also saves time since many people are asking the same questions again and again.
If someone still has questions after reading Microsoft's information, there are many thousands of community forums - like Microsoft Q&A - where people can ask for help. If that's not enough, people can use an internet search engine, artificial intelligence (like my favorite ChatGPT, until it destroys the world), local community groups, websites, bloggers, books, teachers and courses. And knowledgeable family members and friends. And for people who are truly lost, there are always professionals for hire. Microsoft will not teach people how to use their computer.
For people who insist that they must talk to someone, and nothing else will do, Microsoft hires a limited number of outside contractors to handle customer phone calls. But their numbers are limited so they aren't easy to reach. And since they are not Microsoft employees, Microsoft is not responsible for what they tell you or what they do to your computer.
"Why is it so difficult to speak to a real person when calling Microsoft Support?"
"Is there any reliable way to speak to a real Microsoft representative who can assist with an account recovery issue?"
"Why does Microsoft make customers feel as though no one is available to help when they are locked out of their own account?"
There is no one available. Microsoft does not support retail customers.
"What does Microsoft actually mean by 24/7 support ..."
Microsoft Q&A is available 24/7. Many of the people who answer questions here are the same outside contractors you would be talking to if you were able to reach someone on the phone. You'll reach them sooner here.
On the matter of getting back in to your account, as I explained earlier, you have to tell us exactly why you can't get into your account. Different circumstances have different answers. For its part, Microsoft provides many ways for customers to not get locked out of their own accounts, and ways to get back in when they are locked out. Unfortunately - and I'm not addressing you personally - people often don't take advantage of these opportunities.
