Bit Locker Recovery Key

I opened my laptop after it sitting idle for a few weeks to the Bit Locker Recovery Screen. I never set one up, and it shows on my online Microsoft account that there is not one uploaded for this same laptop. I cannot simply erase this computer and start from scratch, because I have a lot of important information on it.

    Hello,

    If you have signed into any work or school accounts on your PC, try logging into those. Windows does a wonky job saving BitLocker recovery keys to a specific account and it's important to check to make sure that the correct account is searched.

    It's very unfortunate, but if you've searched in all the Microsoft accounts that you have signed into on your laptop and the key isn't there, or it's not on a USB drive or a printout, you might have to reset your laptop.
