Try these Windows 11 steps in order:
- Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter first.
- Open Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Find Bluetooth and select Run.
- If Bluetooth starts working afterward, the button should return.
- Check whether Bluetooth is available in Settings.
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- If the Bluetooth toggle appears, turn it on.
- When Bluetooth is on, Windows shows “Discoverable as <computer_name>”.
- Check Quick Settings.
- Select the Network, Sound, or Battery icons on the right side of the taskbar.
- Look for the Bluetooth quick setting and turn it on.
- If no device is connected, it may show “Not connected.”
- Make sure Airplane mode is off.
- Select the Network, Sound, or Battery icons on the taskbar.
- Confirm Airplane mode is turned off.
- Turn Bluetooth off and back on if the toggle appears.
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Turn Bluetooth off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
- If the button is back but AirPods still do not connect, remove and pair them again.
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
- Select More options for the AirPods.
- Select Remove device > Yes.
- Then pair the AirPods again.
- Check the AirPods themselves.
- Make sure they are charged.
- Turn them off and back on if possible.
- Keep them close to the PC.
- If Bluetooth is slow or unreliable, move the AirPods away from USB 3.0 devices because unshielded USB devices can interfere with Bluetooth.
- If Bluetooth still does not appear at all, check whether the PC actually has Bluetooth hardware.
- If this is a new or changed PC setup, verify the device specifications. Some devices do not include Bluetooth.
