Transfer existing subscription to new account

I previously had an active Microsoft 365 subscription on a Microsoft account that was compromised. Microsoft investigated and informed me that access to that account would not be restored. The compromise was not caused by my actions, and I still have an active, paid subscription that I can no longer use because the account is permanently closed. I would like help either restoring access to my subscription or moving it to my new Microsoft account, based on your policies. I can provide purchase dates, subscription type, and billing evidence (bank/card statements and any confirmation emails) to verify my entitlement.

Based on my records and how I used the service, I believe my subscription was Microsoft 365 Personal. I used it for just myself, and the product name appears in my past confirmation emails and billing statements.

    Hi, @Vernon Hanwell

Microsoft 365 subscriptions cannot normally be transferred from one Microsoft account to another.

Since Microsoft has already investigated the compromised account and told you that access will not be restored, this will need to be reviewed by Microsoft Support because this is an account-specific billing issue. The public forum cannot access the subscription or billing records.

You can contact Microsoft Support here: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact

To help narrow this down here as well:

    1. Was Microsoft 365 Personal purchased directly from Microsoft, or through a retailer, Apple, Google Play, or another provider?
    2. When was the most recent subscription payment or renewal?
    3. Do you still have the Microsoft Support case/reference number confirming that the old account cannot be restored? Please don't post the case number or any bank/card details publicly.

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Thanks!
