Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Try this in order:
- Use the Sign-in helper if Microsoft 365 will not accept the account or password.
- Make sure the sign-in uses the same Microsoft account that was used to buy Microsoft 365.
- If sign-in works, go to the subscriptions page and check whether the purchase is attached to that account: Sign in.
- If the subscription shows Manage, Cancel, or Change payment, it is billed by Microsoft.
- If those options are missing or limited, it may be managed by a third party.
- If the subscription was bought through Apple App Store or Google Play, cancellation and refunds must be handled there. Microsoft cannot process refunds or cancellations for those third-party purchases.
- If the subscription was bought directly from Microsoft and a refund is needed, cancel it first:
- Go to Services & subscriptions
- Select the subscription
- Choose Manage > Cancel
- During cancellation, Microsoft will automatically show whether the subscription qualifies for a refund.
Refund policy details supported here:
- In most cases, a refund may be available within 30 days of the initial purchase or before the first recurring billing date, whichever is sooner, by canceling the subscription.
- For the most recent recurring billing charge, cancellation within 30 days after payment may qualify for a one-time refund per Microsoft account, per subscription product.
- Not all cancellations result in a refund.
If the account still cannot sign in, use the sign-in helper first. If the refund does not appear during cancellation or sign-in cannot be recovered, use Contact Support from the Microsoft support pages.
