A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
This is most likely a phishing email unless it matches a genuine Microsoft notification pattern.
Check these items before doing anything:
- Check the sender domain.
- Email from the Microsoft account team is trusted when the address domain is @accountprotection.microsoft.com.
- For personal OneDrive notices, genuine Microsoft communications may also come from:
- @mail.onedrive.com
- @notificationmail.microsoft.com
- @infomail.microsoft.com
- Do not click links in the email until it is verified.
- If unsure, sign in directly to https://onedrive.com or your Microsoft account instead of using the email link.
- Check whether the message refers to an account that belongs to you and whether a verification request was actually expected.
- If the email says the account will be deactivated unless a password is changed or revalidated within a short time, that matches reported phishing behavior.
If the email is about verifying an email address on a Microsoft account, a new verification email can be requested by:
- Signing in to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.
- Selecting Verify next to the unverified alias.
- Selecting Send email.
If OneDrive says the account is unavailable or blocked, use the Microsoft services account reset page and follow the on-screen instructions. If the account was recently verified by security code or there was large file-sharing activity, the block can be removed within 24 hours.
If the message still looks suspicious, report it as phishing. For suspicious personal OneDrive email, the message can be sent as an attachment to ******@office365.microsoft.com.
