To continue after a disconnected Microsoft support chat or remote session, start a new support chat and provide the previous service request or case number so the agent can continue more quickly.
For a Microsoft 365 or Office issue, use the Microsoft support contact flow:
- Go to the Microsoft support contact page.
- Sign in with a personal Microsoft account if prompted.
- In the support flow, enter an Office or Microsoft 365 issue.
- Select Microsoft 365 and Office as the product.
- Select Technical support as the category.
- Choose Chat with a support agent in your web browser.
- When connected, share the previous ticket or service request number and explain that the earlier chat and remote-control session were disconnected.
If the support sign-in page keeps refreshing or does not let the chat open, try these steps first:
- Clear cookies/site data for
support.microsoft.com,microsoft.com,login.live.com, andlogin.microsoftonline.com. - Turn off VPN or proxy temporarily.
- Disable ad-blocking or privacy extensions temporarily.
- Try an InPrivate or Incognito window.
- Try a fresh browser profile.
- Sign in at
https://login.live.com/first, then open the support site in a new tab.
A previous support chat generally cannot be directly reopened from a public forum. The practical path is to contact support again and reference the earlier request number.
