Microsoft Subscription

If access to the Microsoft 365 Personal account is blocked, start with account recovery and subscription verification:

1. Use the Sign-in Helper. It checks the email address or mobile number used for sign-in and identifies common account problems.
2. If the account signs in, go to Services & subscriptions and confirm the Microsoft 365 subscription is listed and active.
3. If the subscription is active but Office still shows subscription or access problems, update the payment method on Payment options if it shows an error.
4. If the subscription was renewed recently and Office still does not recognize it, check whether a product key still needs to be redeemed if the subscription was bought as a retail box or card.
5. If the subscription does not appear under the account, make sure the correct Microsoft account is being used. If the purchase was made through another store such as Apple, Google Play, Best Buy, or Amazon, the subscription may be managed there instead of appearing on the Microsoft account page.
6. If sign-in still fails, use the Microsoft account recovery guidance and support options. If needed, contact Microsoft Support through Contact Microsoft Support.

If Office opens but shows the old or expired subscription after renewal, a full uninstall and reinstall of Microsoft 365 can refresh the license. Use the uninstall troubleshooter, restart the PC, then reinstall from the account that has the active subscription.
