Microsoft Authenticator backup is empty after reinstall — previous OTP accounts missing

Hello, I urgently need help recovering my previous Microsoft Authenticator backup.

I recently factory-reset my Android phone, which removed Microsoft Authenticator and all configured accounts. I had previously enabled cloud backup and I am certain that my Authenticator accounts were included in that backup.

After reinstalling Microsoft Authenticator and signing back in, the backup appears empty. I am concerned that I may have accidentally selected “Back up” instead of “Restore from backup”, which may have created a new empty backup.

The previous backup contained multiple OTP/TOTP accounts that I urgently need to recover.

Is there any way Microsoft can recover or restore the previous backup, or determine whether the old backup still exists?

I am not asking to bypass any security. I only want to recover my previously backed-up Authenticator data.

This is urgent because I currently cannot access several accounts that depended on those OTP credentials.
