    Hi Joanne Schilk,

I just wanted to add a couple of checks that may help narrow down what’s happening.

While you’re gathering the details David asked for, could you also try the following?

    1. Go to Settings > System > Sound > Input, select your microphone and run the Microphone test. Let me know if it picks up your voice and whether you can hear the recorded sample when you play it back.
    2. Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone and make sure Microphone access and "Let apps access your microphone" are turned on. If you’re using a desktop app, also check "Let desktop apps access your microphone".

You can also run the Recording Audio troubleshooter from Settings > System > Sound and check under Advanced > Troubleshoot common sound problems.

Also, does your microphone work normally in other apps or do people have trouble hearing you there as well? This should help narrow down whether the issue is happening at the Windows level or only with the video-call app.

Hopefully these checks help point things in the right direction. Let me know what you find and I’ll be happy to help further.

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

To be able to assist you better, please clarify the following:

    • Are you using an internal or external microphone?
    • If it is external, does the microphone have a standard audio connector (Jack connector) or a USB connector, or is it connected via Bluetooth?

Also, share a screenshot of your system information.

    • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

Maximize the window and use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

    Looking forward to your reply.
