    Can you go to https://account.live.com > Your info, make sure the language field is not blank or incorrect. Make sure you have it set up to the correct language. Review your country and region as well. Make sure they are correct. Then update your billing address again, and see if that helps.

    =======

    If it still doesn't work, some common problems that can cause this issue:

    Your subscription was originally signed up in a different country, and it doesn't match the country that's currently in your account profile, or it doesn't match the credit card's billing address country. Or the subscription was redeemed from a third party retailer.

    If that is the case, you need to let this current subscription expire. Then sign up for a plan again, not renewing.

    ===========

    If none of the above is your scenario, then you need to contact support.

    Go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, Type "Billing" and press Enter. On the next screen, click "Contact support" at the bottom of the page, then choose "Microsoft 365" > "Manage my subscription". You’ll then see the option to chat with a Microsoft support agent who has access to your account to help review the issue.

    This error is commonly caused by payment validation problems rather than the subscription itself. For a Microsoft 365 home subscription, use this sequence:

    1. Close all Office apps.
    2. Go to your Services & subscriptions page and confirm the Microsoft 365 subscription is still active.
    3. Go to your Payment options page.
    4. Check whether the saved payment method shows an error. If it does, update the payment method details.
    5. Make sure the billing details match the card exactly. The name, address, postal code, and other card details must be entered exactly as held by the bank.
    6. If the card still fails, try a different browser or a private browsing session. For payment update issues, a private session is specifically recommended when session-related errors persist.
    7. If using a virtual or prepaid card, switch to a standard card. Virtual and prepaid cards are not accepted in the payment scenarios described in the documentation.
    8. If the card is valid but still rejected, check with the bank that:
      • online or international transactions are allowed
      • recurring payments are allowed
      • the card is active and not blocked

    If the subscription is expired or suspended, renew it first from the Services & subscriptions page, then restart the Office app and try again.
