Account Recovery Assistance – Hacked Microsoft Account

To the Microsoft Support Team,

I am writing to request urgent assistance with recovering my compromised Microsoft account, which was hacked on September 11, 2026. Since that date, I have been entirely unable to sign in.

When I attempt to log in using my original email "ra[Readcted]@outlook.com, the system displays the error message:

"We couldn't find an account with that username. Try another, or get a new Microsoft account."

However, when I try to create a new account using that same username, I receive the response:

"That username is already taken. Try another one or use one of these available options."

It appears the security information or primary alias on my account was altered without my authorization. As a result, I have lost access to all associated digital purchases, including my Minecraft account.

Please advise on the next steps to verify my identity and initiate the account recovery process.

Thank you for your time and prompt support.

Sincerely,

Ranad Mostafa

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. Sorry to know about this and I understand that you have encountered an account related issue.

Please take note that a compromised account is a complex scenario and once the email and phone number has been changed to a different one then it is at the point that it is unrecoverable (even if 2FA is enabled) and Microsoft Support will not be able to help either.

For this you can go over to this link https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2196140 and most likely it will be followed by doing the account recovery form which is an automated process that you will need to enter every bit of information that you can remember on the account (if this is unsuccessful, the account cannot be recovered) and you can check out the links below for reference.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/your-microsoft-account-recovery-request-wasn-t-granted-dc56c3e3-dff0-4ed5-8edb-60290eea6b53

Please take note that if 2FA is enabled on your account, ACSR will inform you that your recovery request will be ignored and you will only receive a message that the recovery request is either successful or it will indicate that it has insufficient information and this means that 2FA is disabled. You may keep on trying as many times as you want which is up to two times per day.

Please take note as well that Microsoft Support will not be able to assist with doing manual recovery, unblocking, and escalation as support agents and advocates are not allowed to send password reset links or access and change account details.

    Use this recovery path:

    1. Start with the Sign-in Helper tool. It can identify the correct recovery option and may offer self-help or the chance to talk to an agent.
    2. If the account was compromised, first run a full malware scan on the PC before changing any password:
      • Open Windows Security
      • Go to Virus and threat protection
      • Select Scan options > Full scan > Scan now
    3. If sign-in still fails, try Recover your account and enter the email address, phone number, or Skype name previously used on the account.
    4. If the original username is no longer recognized, use the Microsoft account recovery form. A working email address is required so recovery results can be sent there.
    5. If two-step verification was turned on and none of the alternate verification methods are accessible, support agents cannot reset the password or change account details.
    6. After submitting the recovery form, a response is sent to the working email address within 24 hours. If the account cannot be verified, the form can be retried up to two times per day.
    7. If the username still shows as not found, contact support and report that the username has stopped working.

    Important:

    • Support agents are not allowed to send password reset links or access and change account details.
    • After regaining access, review connected accounts, forwarding, and automatic replies because those settings may have been changed during the compromise.
