A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
For a personal free 5 GB OneDrive account, if the files were deleted from the OneDrive Recycle Bin, they are considered permanently deleted and cannot be recovered through OneDrive.
What can still be checked:
- Check the PC Recycle Bin if the files were deleted from the synced Desktop folder on Windows. Open Recycle Bin, select the files, right-click, and choose Restore.
- Check whether the files are in another OneDrive account if more than one Microsoft account has been used on the device.
- If the files are still in the OneDrive Recycle Bin on the web, restore them there: go to the OneDrive website, open Recycle bin, select the items, and choose Restore.
Important limits for this scenario:
- Personal OneDrive keeps deleted files in the OneDrive recycle bin for 30 days unless they are removed earlier.
- Once a file has been permanently deleted from the OneDrive Recycle Bin, it can never be recovered.
- Restore your OneDrive is for Microsoft 365 subscribers and is not available for a free personal 5 GB account.
