How can I escalate a Microsoft 365 support case that remains unresolved for a long time?

I am the sole Global Administrator of a Microsoft 365 Business tenant and remain locked out of the Admin Center due to an MFA issue.

I opened Microsoft Support case 2608210050000944 on August 21, but the situation is now completely stuck. The support team has sent me essentially the same template request for my contact details about 10 times, even though I have already answered the same request three times and those replies are visible in the case history.

I offered both a phone call and a Microsoft Teams meeting, but neither worked. I was also promised a callback twice, but no call was ever received.

The original issue remains unresolved, and the support process is going in circles.

How can I formally escalate this to a senior support manager or escalation owner who can take responsibility for the case and actually get it resolved?

Hi Andrey,Since you are the sole Global Administrator and the issue is an MFA lockout, this should be handled as a tenant recovery case by Microsoft’s Data Protection team. Microsoft moderators have confirmed that this team has the required process to verify tenant ownership and restore administrator access.

Since you already have an open case, reply to it and explicitly request “escalation to the Data Protection/Tenant Recovery team and a duty manager due to a prolonged sole Global Administrator lockout.” Include the existing case number so another duplicate case is not created.

If the case continues going in circles, contact Microsoft Business Support by phone, provide the existing case number, and ask the agent to review the case history and escalate it rather than starting the verification process again.

Also, I recommend removing the support case number from this public Q&A post, as case information is better kept between you and Microsoft Support.

Thank you, and feel free to respond back for more assistance.
