If you only need to get an email off your Blocked list, or add to Safe, but can't save changes:

Possible Workaround - Add to Contacts. See the Answer by "Hornblower409 Sep 5 2026" in

This is a known issue affecting some Outlook.com users: removing entries from Settings > Mail > Junk email > Blocked senders and domains can fail with "Couldn't save changes. Something went wrong. Please try again later." A fix has been rolling out to affected accounts.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. In Outlook on the web, go to Settings > Mail > Junk email.
    2. Try removing the blocked address again, then select Save.
    3. If it still fails, add the sender to Contacts and try unblocking again. This has been reported as a workaround.
    4. If it still fails, use an InPrivate/Incognito browser window and sign in again.
    5. In Outlook, check Mail > Rules and temporarily disable any rule that could affect sender filtering.
    6. In Settings > Mail > Junk email, remove entries from Safe senders and domains, save, then try removing the blocked sender again and save.

For Outlook.com and Outlook on the web, the normal unblock path is: Settings > Mail > Junk email > select the blocked address or domain > remove it.

If mail from that sender still does not arrive after unblocking, the message may be blocked before it reaches the mailbox. In that case, ask the sender to check whether they receive a non-delivery report. If the sender is being blocked by Microsoft due to authentication or sender reputation issues, the sender must correct that on their side.
