Hi have both a personal and business microsoft 365 accounts.

The business account is not being recognised by Microsoft for me to login, and as there are no phone numbers, I cannot get support as to why.

An invoice for the business account was paid less than two weeks ago, so the account is active. The message comes back that my login details are not recognised. Spelling etc all correct and checked.

How can I get to some help?

    Dear TE,

To ensure I understand your request correctly and to support you as effectively as possible, I need more specific information from you:

Could you login Microsoft 365 admin center using that business account?

Enter the full business sign-in address in the format <username>@yourcompanydomain.com, and make sure you choose Work or school account, not Personal account.

Open Microsoft Online Password Reset and submit the business email address. If self-service reset is enabled, follow the verification prompts.

If another administrator manages the organization, ask that administrator to reset your password in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Reset passwords - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

If you are the only administrator, continue through the password-reset wizard. When self-service recovery fails, a contact Support option may appear; provide an accessible email address and phone number for the support response. Forgot password to sign in to Microsoft 365, Intune, or Azure - Microsoft 365 | Microsoft Learn

You can also contact Microsoft Support via Contact Microsoft customer support | Microsoft Support

Note: A recently paid invoice confirms billing activity, but sign-in can still not work because the username is different, the password needs resetting, or the subscription/account requires administrator review. Once access is restored, go to Microsoft 365 admin center, check Billing > Your products and confirm the subscription status.

I hope the information shared helps point you in the right direction.

For a Microsoft 365 business account, the fastest supported paths are:

    1. Confirm the account type.
      • Personal Microsoft accounts and Microsoft 365 work or school accounts cannot be merged.
      • If the account is a business account, support must be handled through business support channels.
    2. If an admin can still access the tenant, use online support.
      • Go to the admin center at https://admin.cloud.microsoft.
      • Select Help & support at the bottom right.
      • Enter the issue.
      • If the suggested results do not help, select Contact Support and choose phone or email.
      • This requires at least one subscription bought through Microsoft. If all subscriptions were bought through a partner, support must come from that partner.
    3. If no one can sign in to the business tenant, use phone support.
      • Microsoft 365 for business admins can use the global phone numbers list to find the current support number for the country or region.
      • If the country or region is not listed, select a neighboring country or region or use the United States support number.
      • Have account details ready when calling.
      • If calling from a number not registered in the organization profile, Microsoft uses a PIN-based verification code sent to the registered email or phone number in the Microsoft 365 admin center profile.
    4. If the issue is actually with a personal Microsoft account sign-in, use the sign-in helper.
      • Microsoft support agents cannot send password reset links or change account details for personal Microsoft accounts.
      • The supported path is the sign-in helper or Contact Microsoft Support.
    5. If repeated sign-in attempts were made and MFA is involved, wait and try again later or use a different MFA method if available.
      • For work or school accounts, repeated attempts can trigger Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication protections.
      • If that applies, an IT administrator should review the Microsoft Entra sign-in logs.

Based on the symptoms described, the key next step is to determine whether there is still an admin who can access the Microsoft 365 admin center. If yes, open a support request there. If no, call business support using the global phone numbers list.
