    Hi Keith,

Now that you've already paid for the renewal, make sure first Word is signed in with the Microsoft account that owns the subscription or you used when you purchased the Office.

    1. Open Word and go to File > Account.
    2. Check the email address shown under User Information and Product Information.
    3. Then sign in to account.microsoft.com/services using that same account and check whether your Microsoft 365 subscription shows as Active.
    4. If it shows as active, sign out of Word completely, close all Office apps, then reopen Word and sign in again with that account.

If the subscription is active but Word still only shows Copilot-related messages or won't let you use the normal Word features, the issue may be with the Office activation rather than the payment itself. If problem persists, screenshot the Copilot prompt that keeps appearing and send it here.

    Regards,
    Jhun
