Good day,

All of the sudden, my Outlook email desktop app does not recognize that I have Microsoft 365 subscription and will not open docs, pdf's, or excel sheets. When I look at my account under FILE, Microsoft 365 shows as active.

Please advise.

Thank you,

Danyale

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with this situation. Could you please share a little more information about what happens when you try to open one of these attachments?

Do you receive an error message when opening a Word document, Excel file, or PDF from Outlook? If so, please share a screenshot of the error, making sure that no personal or sensitive information is visible.

Also, could you please confirm the following:

Are you able to open Word and Excel normally from the Start menu and create or open files directly from those applications? If you save one of the attachments to your computer first, are you able to open it from File Explorer?

Does the same issue occur with attachments in Outlook on the web? In Word or Excel, if you go to File > Account, does it also show Microsoft 365 as activated?

Finally, please sign in to the following page using the Microsoft account associated with your Microsoft 365 subscription and confirm that the subscription is shown as active:
