Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Since there are already enough points and the phone number is not VoIP and not shared across 6 accounts, the supported causes to check next are:
- Verify the code entry exactly matches the code sent to the phone.
- If there were too many failed phone verification attempts, wait 48 hours before trying again.
- Make sure redemption is being done in the same region as the Microsoft account.
- Rewards cannot be redeemed while traveling in another market/region.
- Do not use a VPN or proxy while redeeming, because that can make the service think the redemption is coming from a different region.
- Try QR code verification instead of SMS verification.
- Go to rewards.microsoft.com in a web browser on a PC or mobile device.
- Choose the reward.
- When prompted to verify the account, select Verify with the Bing app.
- Scan the QR code with the Bing app on the mobile device.
- Enter the 6-digit verification code, select Verify, then return to complete redemption.
- This option does not appear for Auto-redeem rewards or when redeeming inside the Bing app.
- If QR verification also fails, try the documented troubleshooting steps:
- Update the browser and operating system.
- Clear browser cache and cookies.
- Temporarily turn off VPNs, proxies, or third-party security software.
- Try a different browser, device, or network.
- Check the order status if a redemption attempt was partially created.
- Sign in to the Rewards page, select Redeem > Order history, and check Status.
- If no confirmation email was received, use Resend on the Order History page.
- If the issue continues, contact Microsoft Rewards Support using the support form for account-specific investigation.
