    Dear @Donna Ellis

    1. Check your Services & subscriptions
    2. Check your Order history to identify both the annual payment and the recent $99 charge:

If you can't find the $99 charge in your account, Microsoft has a guide that can help you investigate the payment and check whether another Microsoft account is using the same payment method:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/how-to-investigate-a-billing-charge-from-microsoft

If you still can't identify the charge, I recommend contacting Microsoft Support so they can investigate the payment.

    Best regards, Bence

    Hi, @Donna Ellis

If you don’t see this subscription under your Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com/services, please check a few things so the charge can be narrowed down:

    1. How did you get notified about the charge? (bank alert, email, etc.)
    2. What exactly does the charge description say in your statement?
    3. Do you have another Microsoft account (work, old email, family member) where your card might be added?

    Thanks!

Yes. For a personal account billing charge, the supported path is Contact Microsoft Support and request Contact Support after entering the problem.

For the $99 attempted charge, the most likely causes listed are:

    1. A Microsoft subscription has recurring billing enabled.
    2. Someone known to the cardholder bought something with the card.
    3. A previously declined charge was charged again.
    4. A pre-order or split order was shipped.
    5. An in-app purchase was made from an app, game, or Office.

    To investigate it:

    1. Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard.
    2. Select Investigate for the unrecognized charge.
    3. Also check Order History on Microsoft accounts that may be associated with the card.
    4. If the charge is found and it is an unwanted renewal, review the subscription and billing settings such as recurring billing.

If the charge does not appear on the expected account, it may be tied to a different Microsoft account or to a family member or friend who has the card linked.

If there is concern that the payment information was compromised, contact the bank or payment provider to prevent more charges. Simply disputing the charge does not prevent additional fraudulent charges.

To reach a person, use Contact Microsoft Support: enter the billing problem, select Get Help, and then select Contact Support to be routed to the best support option, which may include chat or a requested call.
