I have a duplicate charge on my account after purchasing an upgrade on Surface Pro 12 for Windows OS from Home to Pro edition.

If you were charged twice for the same Windows 11 Home to Pro upgrade, first check your Microsoft account order history to confirm whether there are actually two separate transactions. If only one upgrade was purchased but two charges appear, contact Microsoft Store Support and provide the order number and both transaction details so they can investigate and refund the duplicate charge. Also avoid purchasing the upgrade again until the billing issue is resolved.

    Hello MA,

In addition to the guidance already provided, please check whether both entries on your bank statement are marked as completed/posted, or whether one is still pending. A pending entry may be an authorization hold rather than a second completed payment, so your bank can confirm the status.

If both charges have been fully posted but only one purchase appears in your Microsoft account, use Payment options > Investigate to check whether the same card was used with another Microsoft account.

As Microsoft Q&A is a public user-to-user forum, contributors cannot access billing records or issue a refund. So I recommend you contact Microsoft support for further assistance:

    1. Open a website link - Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the box below "We're here to help", type Microsoft 365, click "Get Help", and then click "Contact Support" below.
    3. In this section, you will need to sign in to your Microsoft account.
    4. Select "Microsoft 365 and Office" under Products & Services, select "Technical Support" as the category, and click to confirm
    5. You can select " Chat with a support agent in your web browser " to access the chat window.

I hope Microsoft Support can help verify the transactions and resolve the billing issue.

    Have a nice day.
