Good afternoon,

I am contacting you because I am unable to access my Microsoft account.

When I try to sign in, I am asked to provide a verification code. However, when I try to use the available verification codes, they do not work, and I am unable to complete the authentication process.

I have tried several times, but I am still unable to access my account, which means I am completely unable to use the services associated with it.

I would like to know how I can resolve this issue and regain access to my account.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Kind regards.

Hi, I'm Bernard. I'm happy to help!

Since the verification code is not working, have you tried using another option for verification? Kindly follow the steps provided by the AI answer. If the issue persists, I recommend following the steps below to recover the account:

Method 1. Recover a Microsoft account by resetting the password:

Go to this link: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2273955 and follow the prompt to reset the password.

    For reference: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/reset-a-forgotten-microsoft-account-password-eff4f067-5042-c1a3-fe72-b04d60556c37

Method 2. If you cannot reset the password or are unable to verify the account, I recommend submitting a recovery form:

Please complete the form and expect a reply within a couple of days.

If the verification codes are not working, use this recovery path based on the account state:

    1. Start with the Sign-in Helper. It checks the account and guides the next steps for sign-in problems.
    2. If the code prompt shows Try another verification method, use a different verification option already connected to the account if one is available.
    3. Try signing in from a different network, such as switching between Wi‑Fi and mobile data.
    4. Stop repeated attempts. Too many requests can trigger a temporary block.
    5. Wait at least 24 hours before trying again. If the block remains, wait longer, up to 1 week.
    6. If the sign-in page shows I don't have any of these at the identity verification step, select it and follow the prompts to replace security info.
      • If access to all security info has been lost, replacing it starts a 30-day wait before sign-in is allowed.
      • If the current security info is found during those 30 days, it can still be used to sign in, but that cancels the update.
    7. If the password is also no longer working:
      • If the password is forgotten, use the password reset flow.
      • If the password is known but stopped working, use the Sign-in Helper.
    8. If support is needed, use Contact Microsoft Support. Support agents cannot send verification codes, password reset links, or change account details.

    Important:

    • Do not change all security info at the same time, or the account may be restricted for 30 days.
    • If unrequested verification codes are being received, do not respond to them.
