Wells Fargo detected fraud with my Business account. They are issuing me new Debit Card and Pin. They will arrive in 7-10 business days. Can I pay my Microsoft 365 bill at the beginning of October?

Hi Bobby,

Because this was flagged as fraud (not just lost/stolen), Wells Fargo issues you a completely new card number, expiration date, and CVV, and the old card typically gets shut off right away rather than staying active until the replacement arrives. The card number will change with a fraud-related reissue, though your PIN stays the same.

So if your Microsoft 365 bill auto-charges to that Wells Fargo business debit card, the automatic payment attempt at the start of October will likely fail unless you update the payment method before then.

You will have to wait and update Microsoft's billing portal as soon as you have new card info, or temporarily switch M365 billing to a different payment method (another card, or bank transfer if Microsoft supports it for your plan) so the subscription doesn't lapse.

Hi Bobby,

Given that Sept 7 has already passed and Oct 1 is still over two weeks out.

Please go to Microsoft 365 Admin Center , under Billing > Your products and check your current subscription status to see if it was "Expired" or "Disable".

The Expired stage lasts 30 days for most subscriptions. If your subscription's end date was September 7, that puts it in the Expired stage now until around October 7. Only if it's not renewed by then does it move into the Disabled stage, where users lose access and only admins can sign in.

However, global or billing admins can reactivate the subscription in the admin center even if you're in the "Disabled" status within 90 days.
