Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi Elgun Khalilov,
Since you have moved to another country, the payment is likely being rejected because the subscription is still associated with Hungary. Microsoft requires you to change the account country/region before adding a payment method issued in that country. An active subscription from the previous region can also prevent new purchases.
Cancelling Subscription does not immediately delete OneDrive files. However, if your storage exceeds the free 5GB limit, all the files will become read-only. It can later be eventually deleted if it remains over quota for too long, so renew your subscription with new payment method as soon as possible. I suggest doing the following:
- Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with your Microsoft account
- Find Microsoft 365 Family > Manage and turn off recurring billing/cancel the current subscription.
- You can still continue using that paid subscription until its expiration date.
- Cancel your Microsoft subscription | Microsoft Support
- Change your Microsoft account country/region to the country where you now reside
- Add the new payment method and its billing address (wait a few days if failed).
- Once the old subscription ends, purchase Microsoft 365 Family again.
Available payment methods are determined by Microsoft for the country/region on your account. If none of the available methods works or/and the new card is still rejected, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support. The billing team can check for a remaining regional restriction or account-specific payment block:
- Visit Contact Us - Microsoft Support > sign in
- Enter / choose an issue > Get Help to make request
- Scroll down > click Contact Support to connect to an agent
- Select Billing and payments... category > reach browser chat option.
Note: The support contact team only works at certain times, so if the last window shows that it's unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. This way, they can call you and help you.
I wish I could help more directly, but payment-related issues often involve private and personal account information. As Microsoft Q&A is only a user-to-user platform, we do not have access to such sensitive data to verify your billing/payment settings. You would need to contact Microsoft Support for the account-specific billing issue.
