Hello,
May I please know the make and model of your computer?
- Open Device Manager. (Click Windows + X, then select Device Manager.)
- Expand the arrow next to Batteries.
- Right-click the Microsoft AC adapter driver, and select Disable device.
- Wait a few minutes, then enable the driver again.
- Next, disable the 'Microsoft ACPI-Complaint Control Method Battery' driver.
- Wait a few minutes, then enable the driver again.
See if the battery charges.
If it doesn't, try plugging the AC adapter into a good, known wall outlet and see if it works.
If you are still having issues, please run a pre-boot hardware diagnostics test on your battery to see whether the test passes. If it fails, you can contact your laptop manufacturer and get the battery replaced.
*To run the pre-boot hardware diagnostic test, please visit your PC manufacturer’s official website and look for the diagnostic instructions specific to your laptop model. You can also search online for the steps to run the pre-boot hardware diagnostic test for your specific model.
