There is no alternative manual verification path for this scenario. If the account has no usable verification methods and the recovery form was rejected, the supported options are:
- Try the standard password reset flow first:
- On the Microsoft account sign-in page, select Forgot password?
- If no verification option works or none is recognized, use the sign-in helper tool.
- Submit the account recovery form again:
- Use a working email account that can receive the result.
- Complete the form from a device and location previously used to sign in to that account, if possible.
- Include as much information as possible. Wrong guesses do not count against the request.
- Think about any old passwords that may have been used and check whether the password was saved in Microsoft Edge, Windows Web Credentials, Chrome, or Apple Keychain.
- For an account that was never used for email, provide any other account-specific details the form may ask for:
- Older passwords that may have been used.
- If the account was used with Windows, complete the form from that same laptop or a familiar location if available.
- If the account was ever used with Skype or Xbox, include those details.
- If the recovery request is denied:
- Keep trying, up to two times per day.
- Microsoft sends the result to the working email address provided within 24 hours.
Important limits:
- Microsoft support agents are not allowed to send password reset links or access and change account details.
- If two-step verification was turned on and none of the alternate verification methods are accessible, the account cannot be recovered through support.
If the laptop sign-in depends on that Microsoft account, regaining access to the Microsoft account is the supported path described here.
