The admin in your organization can create user names and assign licenses. See https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/add-users/add-users?view=o365-worldwide .

If the account is a Microsoft account, the email used to sign in can be changed by adding the correct email address as an alias, making it primary, and then removing the incorrect one.

    Steps:

    1. Go to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft: https://account.live.com/names/manage
    2. Select Add email.
    3. Add the correct email address.
    4. After it is added, select Make primary for the new address.
    5. Remove the incorrect address if it is no longer needed.

    Important:

    • The email addresses on a Microsoft account are aliases, and they share the same account, password, subscriptions, and settings.
    • Verification codes sent by email can only be sent to the primary alias or another email added as a way to verify sign-in.
    • If the correct email address is already in use on another Microsoft account, it cannot be added as an alias to this account.

If the issue is specifically with a Microsoft 365 subscription tied to a different existing Microsoft account, the supported path in the provided guidance is to cancel the subscription on the wrong account and then sign up again with the correct account.
