Missing Microsoft Whiteboard from personal account – Azure whiteboard

Hello, I use Microsoft Whiteboard with a personal Microsoft account. One of my previously existing Whiteboards has disappeared from my Whiteboard board picker.

I am signed in with the same Microsoft account that originally created the missing Whiteboard. The Whiteboard is no longer visible in the board picker, and I cannot find an old link to it. It is also not stored in OneDrive, which is expected for a personal Whiteboard account.

Could you please check whether this missing Whiteboard still exists in the Azure-based Whiteboard storage and whether it can be recovered or exported?

The account is a personal Microsoft account.

The missing board contained important drawings and furniture design notes, so recovering the original board is very important to me.

    Hello Péter Palácsik

I can see that you have already tried the AI suggestion, but it was ineffective in solving this issue.

Since the board is missing from the gallery, you are signed in with the original personal Microsoft account, and no direct board link is available, there are no further recovery checks that can be performed through the Whiteboard interface.

Microsoft Q&A is a public community forum, so contributors and moderators cannot access Azure-backed Whiteboard storage or escalate the case internally.

Please contact Microsoft Support directly for further assistance:

Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators and contributors, including external Microsoft employees, are not allowed to directly interfere with Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. Our role is limited solely to providing technical guidance on reported incidents, requests, or ideas.

    1. Open a website link - Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the box below "We're here to help", type Microsoft 365, click "Get Help", and then click "Contact Support" below.
    3. In this section, you will need to sign in to your Microsoft account.
    4. Select "Microsoft 365 and Office" under Products & Services, select "Technical Support" as the category, and click to confirm
    5. You can select " Chat with a support agent in your web browser " to access the chat window.

When contacting support please include the approximate date the board was created or last accessed, its title if remembered, and the devices or Whiteboard clients previously used.

Please note that server-side recovery cannot be guaranteed, but Microsoft Support is the appropriate channel to determine whether any investigation or recovery option is available.

I hope you can get the support you need,

    have a nice day.

These troubleshooting steps have already been completed. The missing board does not appear in the board gallery, I am signed into the original personal Microsoft account, and there is no old board URL available. I specifically need Microsoft to determine whether the board still exists in the Azure-backed Whiteboard storage and whether server-side recovery is possible. Please escalate this to the Whiteboard support team.

For a personal Microsoft account, Whiteboards are saved in Azure and can only be accessed from the Whiteboard board picker. They are not stored in OneDrive.

The available guidance does not provide a way to check Azure-based Whiteboard storage directly or recover/export a missing personal-account whiteboard when it no longer appears in the board picker.

    Supported facts:

    • Personal-account whiteboards are saved in Azure.
    • Personal-account whiteboards can only be accessed from the board picker.
    • OneDrive storage applies to commercial accounts, not personal-account whiteboards.
