FN lock will not turn off despite every "solution"

Hello, I have a Windows 11 HP PC. Whenever I try to lower volume or brightness with just the F keys on my wired keyboard, it won't unless I also hold FN. I would like to reverse this.

No keyboard shortcuts work. FN + ESC, FN + SHIFT, or any other ones suggested. As far as I can tell, it's not as easy as changing in the settings. I tried changing the keyboard from manual to automatic like some suggested but nothing.

When I boot to the BIOS software, there is no option of hotkeys or action keys or any of the sort listed. Just Language>Virtualization technology>USB Charging>After Power Loss>Num Lock State at Power-On>S4/S5 Wake on LAN

My young daughter uses this PC. She doesn't grasp the FN function... I wish this was easier.

    Hello

    This is actually NOT a Windows feature. It is hardware/firmware feature, so you will not find a way to disable/enable Fn key lock via Windows.

    Also, because this is a wired external keyboard, the setting is usually controlled by the keyboard itself, not by Windows or the HP computer BIOS.

    The BIOS options such as “Action Keys Mode” normally apply to the laptop’s built-in keyboard. If your HP BIOS does not show that option, that is not unusual for a desktop PC.

    Is it a speciality keyboard or gaming keyboard? What's the keyboard's brand and model?
