Hello. I have an Azure account created in Canada a few years back. I accidentally use its service from outside the country. Now there's a invoice in Canadian dollar and I can't make any payment using other credit cards from outside Canada. I can't send a support ticket as it keep sending me nonsense solutions without allowing me to access a person. I'm hoping to solve the problem or I'll ignore the account for good.

For this scenario, the supported path is to open an Azure billing support request and avoid the portal suggestion loop.

    1. In the Azure portal, go to Help + Support or Support + Troubleshooting.
    2. Search for Billing and select it.
    3. Select the affected subscription, then select Next.
    4. If the portal shows recommended solutions, do not open those suggestions.
    5. Select Create a support request.
    6. Enter the billing details, then select Next.
    7. If the portal loops back to suggested solutions again, select Return to support request in the upper-left, then continue to Additional details.
    8. Complete the required fields and submit the case.

Billing and subscription management support is available for billing issues, and the context indicates this route is used specifically when payment problems or locked invoices cannot be resolved directly in the portal.

If the card itself is being declined, the documented checks are:

    • Confirm the card supports international transactions.
    • Confirm there are sufficient funds or credit limit.
    • Confirm recurring payments are allowed.
    • Verify the name, address, and CVV exactly match the card details.
    • Azure does not accept prepaid or virtual cards.

If paying by card continues to fail and this is for a business, Azure also supports requesting invoice payment by wire transfer. To request that change in the portal support flow, use:

    • Issue type: Billing
    • Problem type: Manage Payment Methods
    • Problem subtype: Switch to pay by invoice as my default payment method

If you’re paying a Microsoft invoice from outside the U.S., I’d recommend checking the billing account’s country/region and available payment methods first. Microsoft’s billing support can also confirm which payment options are supported for your location if the payment keeps getting declined.
