Organizing, editing, and coordinating meetings and events within Microsoft Teams calendars
To send a Teams meeting invite from Outlook, the account and Outlook version must support it.
- Check the account type in Outlook.
- Scheduling Teams meetings in Outlook is available for Microsoft 365 Business Exchange accounts.
- Personal accounts are not supported by the Outlook add-in for creating meetings.
- POP/IMAP accounts such as Gmail, Yahoo, and iCloud are not supported.
- If using new Outlook for Windows or Outlook on the web:
- Open Outlook.
- Select Calendar.
- Select New event.
- Turn on the Teams meeting toggle next to Title.
- Add attendees and meeting details.
- Select Send.
- If Save as draft is used instead of Send, the Teams join details are not added.
- If using classic Outlook for Windows:
- Open Outlook and switch to Calendar.
- Select New Teams Meeting.
- Add attendees and meeting details.
- Select Send.
- The Teams Meeting add-in should be automatically installed if Microsoft Teams and Office 2016, 2019, or 2021 are installed on the Windows PC.
- If the Teams Meeting option is missing in classic Outlook:
- Run the classic Teams add-in for classic Outlook troubleshooter.
- It requires Windows 10 or later.
- It must be run on the same Windows PC as classic Outlook.
- It does not work with new Outlook for Windows.
- If this happens only when sending on behalf of another user as a delegate and the error says the message has been changed:
- Do not save the meeting before sending it.
- Turn off Outlook Autosave or increase the autosave delay: File > Options > Mail > Save Messages.
- A value of 10 minutes or more is suggested.
- Outlook on the web can also be used to create the meeting because it is not affected by that issue.
If the Outlook account is a personal account or a POP/IMAP mailbox, Teams meeting invites cannot be created directly from Outlook with that setup.
- Schedule a Microsoft Teams meeting from Outlook
- Create or schedule an online meeting in Outlook for Windows
- Troubleshoot the Teams Meeting add-in in Outlook for Windows
- The operation cannot be performed because the message has been changed error when a delegate creates a Skype or Teams meeting in Outlook
