Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
If this is a personal Microsoft account password reset:
- On the sign-in page, select Forgot password?. If the password window is no longer open, use Reset password.
- Enter the username for the account and select Next.
- Choose where to receive the verification code.
- Retype the first part of the email address or the last four digits of the phone number shown, then select Get code.
- Enter the verification code and select Next.
- Type the new password and select Next.
If the verification options are no longer accessible, use the Sign-in helper tool.
If this is a Windows local account and sign-in uses a PIN:
- On the Windows sign-in screen, select the arrow next to the password field.
- Select OK and then Reset password.
- Answer the security questions configured for that account.
For a work or school account:
- Go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info.
- Select Can't access your account?
- Enter the work or school account and complete the verification steps.
- If Contact your administrator appears instead of Get back into your account, self-service password reset is not enabled and the administrator must reset it.
Microsoft support cannot retrieve or bypass a lost or forgotten password, and support agents cannot send password reset links or change account details.
