How do I change license for MS Office from subscription to lifetime license?

I currently have a subscription license of MS Office, but I would like to purchase lifetime license. I am considering purchasing Office Professional Plus 2019 to replace my current subscription. How do I proceed?

To move from a Microsoft 365 subscription to a one-time purchase version of Office:

Sign in to Subscriptions with the Microsoft account associated with the current subscription.
Select Turn off recurring billing so the subscription does not renew.
When the subscription expires, buy a one-time purchase of Office.
After purchase, open an Office app such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint and switch the license so the apps start using the one-time purchase.

Important for Mac:

If Office was downloaded from the Mac App Store, one-time Office licenses are not compatible with those apps.
One-time licenses can only be used with Office apps downloaded directly from Microsoft.
If a one-time license is used with Mac App Store apps, the apps show Action Required: We've detected a one-time purchase license and run in reduced functionality mode.

If the current subscription was purchased through a third-party billing partner such as Apple App Store, Google Play, or certain retail partners, subscription changes are managed by that partner.

First of all, what operating system are you using this? Windows 11 or macOS? If it is macOS, which macOS version?

I would strongly recommend AGAINST 2019 because it has already reached end of support. If you are using this on macOS especially, it is running with reduced feature, basically doesn't work properly, no matter how new your macOS is.

In addition, stay away from anything named Pro Plus, or Standard or LTSC.

The Pro Plus (aka, Standard, LTSC) product is not designed for home users. It is a volume license, which means it is intended for organizations, not individuals. These licenses are managed by an organization’s IT department and are tied to a contract with Microsoft. Because of how volume licensing works, activation may depend on things like installation limits or periodic validation through an organization’s KMS server. Those processes require IT support from the organization that owns the license. That is why these licenses are not meant to be sold to individuals. Home users typically do not have access to the IT infrastructure needed to manage or maintain them. Unfortunately, some third-party sellers offer these licenses at very low prices. They may seem like a good deal, but they are often resold in ways that violate the licensing terms. Most buyers are not aware of these details until problems occur.

Office 2019 supports ended last October. It no longer fully functions (read only) on MacOS and requires an upgrade to a supported paid edition. As it’s unsupported it’s not available from Microsoft, you will need to buy from third party.

Office 2024 has three more years of support. As evidenced by office 2019, it’s not clear how long it will fully function after that date. If you buy a lifetime license be prepared to repurchase in 3 years.
