Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
If the payment method is already on the account, the name can be updated only if it is the name on the card for that existing card.
For a Microsoft 365 business account:
- Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- If using Simplified view, select Products > View payment methods.
- If using Dashboard view, go to Bills & payments > Payment methods.
- Select More actions (...) for the payment method, then select Edit.
- Update the name on the credit or debit card, billing address, or expiration date.
- Enter the card security code to save the change.
- Select Save.
Important:
- The card number cannot be changed on an existing payment method.
- If the account number changed, add a different payment method and then delete the old one.
- If the card is being declined, make sure the card number, expiration date, name on the card, and billing address match exactly what appears on the card and statement.
- If the issue continues, contact the bank to confirm the card is active and not being blocked.
- For business accounts, the payment method must be issued from the same country or region as the tenant.
For a personal Microsoft account, payment details such as name, billing address, expiration date, or CVV can be updated from the Microsoft account payment method page.
