To change the password for a business email account, change it in the account service first, then update Outlook if needed.

    For Outlook Web App:

    1. Sign in to Outlook Web App using the URL provided by the organization’s email administrator.
    2. Select Settings > Change password.
    3. Follow the prompts on the Change password page.

If the password cannot be changed there, the mailbox settings may not allow it. In that case, contact the organization’s helpdesk.

For Microsoft 365 for business or education accounts, account settings such as password can be changed from the Microsoft 365 business account settings experience.

If Outlook for Windows stops sending or receiving mail after the password change:

    1. Open Control Panel.
    2. Open Mail.
    3. Select Email Accounts.
    4. Select the account, then choose Change.
    5. Verify the User Name and Password.
    6. If required by the email provider, use the generated passcode instead of the regular password when two-factor authentication is enabled.

If the goal is also to set up Outlook for a new Microsoft 365 business email account:

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Select File > Info > Add Account.
    3. Enter the Microsoft email address and select Connect.

    Hello @Robert Johnson,

Thank you for posting your question.

To better understand the situation and help narrow down the cause, could you please provide a bit more information?

    1. Have you already been able to sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center?
    2. Have you changed this password successfully in the past, or is this the first time you are trying to do so?
    3. Are you trying to set up a new business email account, or are you trying to manage an existing account?
    4. At which step are you getting stuck when setting up the account?
    5. When you attempt to change the password, do you receive any error message? If so, please share the exact wording.

If possible, please also share a screenshot of the page where you're encountering the issue (with any personal information removed).

Once you provide these details, I’ll be happy to suggest the appropriate next steps. Thank you again for your time and understanding. I really appreciate your patience, and I’m here to help. Looking forward to your response.
