Welcome Karol Richardson,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand that after uninstalling the audio driver, Windows did not automatically reinstall it and your laptop now has no sound.
Could you please let us know:
- What is the make and model of your laptop?
- In Device Manager, do you see any devices with a yellow warning icon under Sound, video and game controllers or Other devices?
In the meantime, you can try these steps:
Option 1: Scan for hardware changes
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager
- Click the Action menu
- Select Scan for hardware changes
Option 2: Restart the Windows Audio service
- Press Windows + R, type
services.msc, and press Enter
- Locate Windows Audio
- Confirm it is Running and Startup Type is set to Automatic
Option 3: Check Device Manager
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers
- If your audio device appears, right-click it and select Update driver
- Choose Search automatically for drivers
